Attention Ohio Taxpayers
The Ohio Political Contribution Tax Credit

Ohio tax law currently allows an individual to contribute $50 to a candidate for state representative and then receive that $50 back as a credit on their Ohio income tax return. That means that an Ohio couple that files their taxes jointly can give $100 to our campaign, and receive that $100 back as a credit.

Here is how you claim your credit (when you file in 2007):

Locate Line 56 on your Ohio income tax form:

At the box marked "Ohio Political Contributions Credit", enter up to $50 per individual or $100 for a couple. This amount is subtracted directly from the amount of Ohio tax that you owe.
